 Perioperative acupuncture is safe and effective in
alleviating pain after gynaecological laparotomy.
However, a large sample size trial is warranted to
confirm the efficacy. Hong Kong public hospitals
may consider providing inpatient perioperative
acupuncture services to such patients.
