1. Substantial exposure to exhaled air occurs within a 0.5 m radius of patients receiving non-invasive positive pressure ventilation and a 0. m radius of those receiving oxygen therapy.
2. Health care workers should take protective precautions when managing patients with community-acquired pneumonia complicated by respiratory failure.
